Wayside Botanicals is a permaculture based medicinal herb farm and school, located just north of Bellingham WA.
We partner with and share our farm site and campus with Raven’s Roots Naturalist school.
Our mission is to contribute to a growing network of small-scale growers and
wildcrafters while creating and sustaining bio-regional resiliency and sovereignty,
and providing locally grown and sourced, high quality medicinal herbs to
herbalists and folk medicine makers alike.

This is our eighth year in
cultivation, and we design and create our plantings using organic and
Permaculture methods. We never use pesticides, herbicides, synthetic
fertilizers or GMO’s. We also apply a diverse array of no-till regenerative farming
methods that enhance and build soil rather than degrade it, while simultaneously
limiting our fossil fuel dependency. 

The three Permaculture ethics; Earth care, people care, and fair share, are our core values and
guiding principles on the farm. We follow a high ethical standard for
wildcrafting, by tending to the wild stands and harvesting in small quantities.
Our plantings include a diverse array of medicinal herbs, trees, shrubs,
perennial and annual vegetables as well as fungi.
